Lottery - Critical Design

This is a critical redesign of the average UK Lottery ticket. 

Having worked in a shop for several years, this ticket is something that I've sold to people on a regular basis. With every ticket printed, that smirking logo is burned further into memory - not to mention the constant radio adverts for different Lotto campaigns (the concept is nice, but I'm sick of hearing about 'magic' numbers.) Each and every ticket holds the same subtle cues that entice people into buying more, sold under the guise of giving back to the planet and making real changes. Using money that is made up of manipulation.

Gambling is a huge problem for many in the United Kingdom, and there are plenty of existing campaigns surrounding that issue. They all serve a greater purpose and fight for a good cause -  even the National Lottery have accessible information on getting help, playing safely and knowing your limits. However, there is something seriously wrong when the lottery tickets being sold offer zero advice or support for those who need it. This idea - of selling a gamble by telling your vulnerable consumers their money makes "amazing happen" - is an unethical and downright offensive abuse of power. 

This artefact does not exist to make significant change - rather, it exists to provoke the hypocrisy of lottery conglomerates. It exists as an idea for how further support could be given to those who need it. Or, it could just exist to be another bit of paper that you can have a laugh at.
